It doesn’t have a “touch screen” and never implied that it did so I have no idea why that’s a star rating on the review page. I also noticed that nobody asked me to write two reviews, as I bought another one of these two days after the first one arrived, but that’s okay. If I had put the other in my roommate’s name, as it was for them, a second review prompt may have appeared.Personally though, as a long time computer expert, I figured it would be trash. Honestly bought it after a half dozen shots of Jameson and do not recall purchasing the first one. Didn’t need a laptop, didn’t want a laptop, no idea why I bought one in a drunken stupor.Well that worked out to my benefit, lol, it’s a pretty decent little computer. I mean, I game so I stick mainly to my $3,000 rig and my ultra-wide curved gaming monitor but this Asus will be my travel companion. I can always remote into my home computer and play the games all the same, they’ll just be in 720p because that is just about the laptop’s peak of screen clarity. If you just need a travel computer that you can check email on, create or edit documents and spreadsheets with, watch Netflix or YouTube, or even just play music in the background while you surf the web, this thing should be more than fine for your needs. I have done all these things and more with ease on it.The first boot up took me nearly 40 minutes to get to the desktop but that is Windows software setup, not so much the computer’s hardware. Updating windoze to be what it wanted to be took nearly 5 hours. After all that was said and done and I had some software installed to make it the workstation I wanted it to be, it boots fast, shuts down fast, reboots quickly enough and the Bluetooth capabilities (if you know what you’re doing and have the accessories) can open its world beyond what the little stature of it indicates. The fact that I got them on Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals for under $160 each was just the icing on the cake.

So after 1.5 months of using this baby for grad school, I’m ready to write my review.I bought this laptop for under $200 including tax to replace my $1000 iPad Pro for school use. I had many issues with the iPad, most notably its software and issues with formatting when using Microsoft Excel. But this review isn’t about why I don’t like my iPad. Here is my breakdown review of this laptop:I wanted a budget laptop that was not a Chromebook since I use the Microsoft Office suite pretty extensively.Processing power: this laptop is by no means super fast. Web pages and various apps will take a second or two to load. For me, it’s not a problem at all but I can see it bothering some people. I’m also able to have many tabs and windows open and multitask pretty frequently and it handles it pretty well. Again, it may take a second or two for windows to react, especially if I’m running multiple things.Graphics power: non-existent so I would not expect to be able to play any games nor have I tried to do so. But! I am able to run CompleteAnatomy, which is a pretty demanding application. It boots slow but once the app is open it runs well enough to get the job done. I do this while also running 4 to 5 other windows/applications so no complaints here.Screen: it looks fine when you look straight at it. Brightness is decent as well as clarity and contrast. Its viewing angles are terrible so if you plan to stream videos or something while lying on your bed it might be a bad choice. But! I love its terrible viewing angles because people around me can’t see my screen. It’s like a built-in privacy screen.Keyboard: surprisingly responsive. I have no complaints with it at all. If anything I’m mildly impressed.Touchpad: does the job. The touchpad numpad is kind of gimmicky and doesn’t work all that great. But I don’t need the feature and I use a mouse anyway.Portability: this is where it shines. Extremely light (lighter than my iPad if it’s in its case) with a small/discrete charger. I thought the tiny screen would be a problem at first but now I love it.Battery life: very good. It’ll last a full day’s use (8-10 hours of school) and still hang out at around 25%. Better battery life than my phone and any other laptop I’ve ever had.Storage: very small. But I exclusively work off of the cloud because I’ll bounce between this laptop, my phone, and my PC at home. Nowadays I think local storage isn’t as important as before as long as you have internet access.Software/OS: When the laptop first arrived, it prompted an update to Windows 11 followed by a multitude of updates. It was a solid 2.5 hours of just updating. It also came with S mode defaulted, which I later found out was some kind of safety feature that makes all downloads limited to things from the Microsoft Store. That kind of made the laptop unusable and so I was planning to return it but you can opt out of S mode and now it’s great.Others: no issues with Wifi or Bluetooth connectivity. I think the notification and focus features are gimmicky but I don’t have issues having features I don’t plan to use.Overall, for my school use, this laptop is a solid 8/10 for me. If you buy it handling your expectations, this laptop is unbeatable for its price.

My travel Dell died and I needed something on the fly. This laptop was extremely well priced and arrived quickly. At first I was afraid it wouldn’t be suited for my needs because it was slow. That’s when I realized it only needed to complete the Windows updates. After everything was updated, the laptop is fast and does exactly what I need it to. I gave it five stars but I would still like to shake whoever put the power button right next to the delete key. Three times tonight I have accidentally shut off the laptop when I merely meant to delete a few letters. I suppose I’ll get used to that. The laptop is quick, small enough to fit in any bag, and works like a charm for apps and even Word, which I use quite often. I highly recommend this laptop for anyone who needs a travel computer for any occasion.

Not the fastest laptop but I wanted something that I could easily carry, light weight, just for surfing and other low CPU usage activities. This fit the bill and I’m happy with it. Has a decent start up time, good wifi connectivity, decent keyboard and touchpad.

I love the size, the ease of use, the screen quality. I picked up an external cd reader as I need that for my embroidery machine.

Good so far. I really like it! It’s small enough and portable like I was looking for! I picked it because I needed something small for emails and work. Excited to keep exploring it. It is in Windows 11 S Mode. Will update

I got this to be able to work when I’m traveling. I needed something basic with email, internet, Excel and Word. Something that wouldn’t take up space in my carry-on. To get this at such a bargain price is awesome. Set up was so easy. Im in love with this little marvel.Only problem is that the integrated number pad, which I was so excited about, doesn’t work for the purpose i needed it for, which was accents in other languages.

This laptop is perfect for a portable, expandable laptop. I use an external drive and thumb drive, leaving only the basic programs on the computer.

I needed a light and small laptop for Travel and this is just perfect. I’ve had it for several weeks now and have had no problems at all with it.
